Jesuitenwiese in Vienna’s Prater is one of the largest and most popular playground meadows in the city. It is located in the leafy Prater in the 2nd district and gives families plenty of space to run around, picnic, and relax. The spacious playground is especially well-suited for children aged 2 to 12 and is divided into several areas — from a toddler zone with a sandbox and low swings to taller climbing structures for older kids. The wide, paved paths around the meadow are stroller-friendly, so parents with babies can get there easily. On the meadow itself, children can play ball, fly kites, or simply run on the grass. In summer the mature trees provide pleasant shade, which is ideal on hot days. Public toilets and several casual restaurants serving kid-friendly snacks are nearby. Access to the park and all play equipment is free and available year-round. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash and kept off the playground area. Jesuitenwiese is easy to reach by metro (U2 Messe-Prater or Krieau) and has bicycle parking. Because of its size, the place rarely feels too crowded, so children have plenty of room to explore. Altogether, Jesuitenwiese is a top pick for an easy, free family outing in Vienna.
