The Robinson Playground in the Augarten is a little adventure paradise for kids right in Vienna’s 2nd district. The playground is styled like a “Robinson Crusoe” camp with wooden huts, tree trunks, rope bridges, and natural climbing features. It’s best for children between 4 and 12 who can already climb confidently and want to challenge their motor skills. Younger children also have a separate area with sand and smaller equipment. The paths in the Augarten are flat and easy to navigate with a stroller. The whole Augarten is enclosed by a historic wall, which gives parents an added sense of security. In summer the long tree-lined avenues provide plenty of shade, and on hot days the air feels cooler between the rows of trees. The playground and the park are completely free to use. The Augarten has public toilets and a café where parents can take a break. Public transport is excellent — the playground is reachable from Taborstraße (U2) and Schottenring (U2/U4). Thanks to its nature-themed design, the Robinson Playground is a highlight for kids who love climbing, balancing, and using their imagination.
